How a template works

A template is a plan, not a copy. Guardy Bot checks it against your server as it is now, so the review shows exactly what would be added.

In Server planner, choose the community closest to yours and answer a few "Make it yours" questions, such as server size or a ticket desk.
- 2Review the plan
Every channel, role and Guardy Bot setting is listed. Things your server already has are kept as they are. Switch off any line you do not want.
- 3Build, or undo later
Nothing changes until you press Build. Undo this setup removes what that run created and switches off the modules it turned on.

Already running a server?
A template only adds. You stay in charge.
Use a template on an empty server or one with years of history. The plan is checked against your server as it is now, and checked again before each step is built.
Keeps what is there
A channel or role your server already has shows as already there and is kept exactly as it is. On a busy server, new channels start switched off.
Hands out no admin powers
Never Administrator, Manage Server, Manage Roles or Manage Webhooks, and never a change to a role at or above Guardy Bot’s own.
Undo takes it back
Undo this setup removes what the run created and switches off the modules it turned on. Channels members already wrote in are kept.

When no template fits, say what you need in plain words, in the dashboard or with /ask in Discord. Ask Guardy reads your server, proposes the exact changes, and makes them after you approve.
- Each new server gets 500 credits for Ask Guardy, once: about 13 replies within 30 days of first use, for up to 3 servers per owner.
- Nothing changes until you approve. In Discord, that is Approve, then Confirm.
- You can undo a change Ask Guardy made. Conversations are private to the person who started them.

01What is a Discord server template?
A Discord server template is a ready-made set of categories, channels, roles and permissions you start a server from, instead of building it channel by channel. Discord’s own templates are discord.new links that create a new server from a copy of another one. Guardy Bot’s 5 templates (Minecraft, Gaming community, Streamer and creator, Friends, Product and support) are plans you review and apply to a new or an existing server, and they also switch on Guardy Bot features such as AutoMod, a mod log and welcome messages.
02Are Guardy Bot’s Discord server templates free?
Yes. All 5 templates are free on every plan and use no AI credits, so they work even with Guardy AI switched off. Asking Ask Guardy for a custom setup uses AI credits; a new server gets a one-time 500-credit setup budget for that, valid 30 days from first use (at most 3 servers per owner).
03Can I use a template on a server I already run?
Yes. A template adds what is missing. A channel or role your server already has is shown as already there and kept exactly as it is. On a server that already has many channels, the template’s categories and channels start switched off, so you choose which ones to add.
04Can I undo a template?
Yes. Undo this setup removes the channels, categories, roles and settings that run created, and switches off the modules it turned on. A channel members already wrote in is kept, and so is anything you changed after the build. Undo does not restore permission changes on channels that already existed.
05Which permissions does a template give out?
Only what each role needs, and you see every permission before anything is built. A template never grants Administrator, Manage Server, Manage Roles or Manage Webhooks, and never changes a role at or above Guardy Bot’s own role. Ban, kick and similar permissions are flagged for you to check first.
06How is this different from a discord.new template link?
A native Discord template link creates a new server from a copy of another one. Guardy Bot’s templates are plans you review and apply to a new or an existing server, and they also switch on Guardy Bot features such as AutoMod, a mod log, welcome messages and a ticket panel.
07Who can apply a template?
Anyone who can change the server’s settings in the Guardy Bot dashboard. Templates live in Server planner, next to Describe with AI and Check my server.
