01What it logs
The changes staff ask about
Members coming and going, roles given and taken, channels and threads made and removed.
- A join line shows the account age, the member number and any records on file.
- Roles given or taken away, channels and roles created, renamed or deleted, and threads started, archived or deleted.
- Name and avatar changes, emoji and stickers, invites, and voice activity if you turn it on.
Example role and thread lines.
02Where it goes
One channel, or one per kind
Start with one log channel. Send any category somewhere else when you want.
- Create #server-log in one click: a private channel only your moderators and Guardy can see.
- Pick cards that are easy to scan, or one line each for a fast feed.
- Skip channels, roles or members you do not want in the log. Skipping a channel skips its threads too.
The log channel and line style controls on the dashboard, and two example lines in the one-line style.
03Who did it
Who made the change, when Discord says
Guardy adds a name from Discord’s audit log, and never guesses.
- Name who did it is on from the start. It needs View Audit Log.
- When Discord does not say who did it, the change is still logged, without a name.
- Keep name history is off until an admin turns it on. Old names then show on a member’s cases.
An example line with the person who made the change, and the two switches on the dashboard.
04Every event
Nine categories. Twenty-eight changes.
- On from the start
- Off until you turn it on
| Category | What it logs |
|---|---|
| Joins and leaves | Someone joined, someone left. A kick reads as kicked. |
| Name and avatar changes | Nickname, username, display name and avatar changed. |
| Role changes | A role given to a member, or taken away. |
| Channels | Channel created, renamed or deleted. |
| Roles | Role created, renamed or deleted. |
| Emoji and stickers | Emoji and stickers added, renamed or removed. |
| Threads | Thread started, archived or deleted. |
| Invites | Invite created or revoked. |
| Voice activity | Joined, left or moved between voice channels. Off because it is the busiest. |
Turn single changes off inside any category. Bans go to your moderation log instead of the leave line.
Free vs Premium
Free logs all of it. Premium keeps names longer.

Server activity questions
Quick answers.
What owners ask before they turn on Server activity.
01What Discord activity can Guardy Bot log?
Joins and leaves, name and avatar changes, roles given or taken away, channels and roles created, renamed or deleted, threads, emoji and stickers, invites, and voice activity. That is 28 kinds of change in 9 categories. Voice is off until you turn it on; the rest start on.
02Does it log deleted and edited messages?
Not in this channel. Deleted and edited messages have their own message log in Moderation, where moderators read them on the dashboard instead of in a channel.
03Can different event categories go to different channels?
Yes. Use one log channel or pick a channel per category, then skip channels, roles or members you do not want logged.
04Will every log identify who made the change?
Not always. With Name who did it on, Guardy Bot adds who made the change when Discord’s audit log makes it clear, and still logs the change when it does not. Name, avatar and voice changes never have a name, because Discord does not record one.
