01The reply
Write the answer once
Each command gets its own name, description and reply.
- A text reply up to 2,000 characters, or an embed with a title, colour, images, footer and up to 25 fields, with a preview beside the editor.
- Use {user} to mention the member, {server} for your server’s name and {channel} for the channel. Only the member who used it can be pinged.
- New commands start paused. Preview the reply, enable it when it is ready, and check its Discord sync status in the dashboard.

02Personal replies
Let members give you something to work with
A short answer makes a standard command feel like it belongs to the person using it.
- Add one named text input, optional or required, with up to 200 characters. Put {input} in the reply to use what the member typed.
- Personalize replies with the member’s username, display name or user ID, and your server’s member count. These variables work in text and embeds.
- Turn on private replies when only the person using the command should see the answer. Inputs, variables and private replies are all free.

03Premium replies
One command. The right reply.
With Premium, choose a reply that matches an answer or surprise members with a random one.
- Matching replies choose a text response for an exact input value, ignoring capitalization and spaces around the answer. Your default reply handles anything else.
- Or add random replies, so a greeting or community prompt can feel different each time. Each command uses matching replies or random replies.
- Add one community role to give the member who runs it. With matching replies, only a match gives the role; the default reply does not. Staff and verification roles are excluded.

04Access
Decide who can use it, and how often
Keep a useful command from turning into spam.
- Limit a command to certain roles, or leave it open to everyone.
- Set a cooldown per member, up to 24 hours.
- Members who cannot use it, or are on cooldown, get a private reply only they can see.

01Are custom commands Discord slash commands?
Yes. Guardy Bot publishes them as slash commands for your server, so members find and use them right in Discord.
02Can a custom command return an embed?
Yes. A command can return plain text or a structured embed, with a dashboard preview before publication.
03Can command access and spam be limited?
Yes. Commands can be limited to selected roles and can use a per-member cooldown of up to 24 hours. The dashboard also shows whether the latest version synced to Discord.
04Can members type an answer into a custom command?
Yes. Add one named text input, make it optional or required, and use {input} in the reply. Free includes inputs, member and server variables, and replies that only the person using the command can see.
05What does Premium add to custom commands?
Premium adds matching replies, random replies and one community role action per command. A command can use matching or random text replies. When matching replies are used, only a matching answer gives the role. If Premium ends, commands using these options pause and keep their saved settings.
06How many custom commands can I make?
Free includes up to 20. Premium has no plan limit of its own, so you can use all 100 commands Discord allows per server.
