01On join
Roles that arrive with the member
Pick the roles once. Guardy Bot gives them to everyone who joins.
- People and bots get separate role sets, so a bot never picks up a member role by accident.
- Pick a removal time for any member role: 1, 3, 7, 14, 30 or 90 days, or never. Bot roles stay.
- Guardy Bot checks the role order first and skips a role it cannot give, then gives the rest. Members held by the join gate get their roles once they are let in.

02Timed roles
A role for a while, then gone
Hand someone a role for a set time. Guardy Bot takes it back for you.
- /role temp takes a time from 1 minute to 365 days, like 30m, 12h, 7d or 4w. Running it again on a live grant extends it.
- /role add and /role remove give or take a role with no timer. They need Manage Roles.
- Every timed role shows on the dashboard with when it comes off, and a Remove now button.

What owners ask before they turn on Auto Roles.
01Can human members and bots receive different roles?
Yes. Guardy Bot keeps separate starting-role sets for human accounts and bot accounts.
02What if Guardy Bot cannot assign one of the selected roles?
Guardy Bot checks the current Discord role order and skips a role it cannot give, then gives the rest. To fix it, move Guardy Bot’s role above that role in Server Settings, Roles.
03When are roles assigned if verification is enabled?
A member held by the join gate gets their roles after they are verified and let in. Members who pass or skip the gate get them as usual.
04Can a role come off again by itself?
Yes. Give a member role a removal time of 1, 3, 7, 14, 30 or 90 days on the dashboard, or use /role temp for any time from 1 minute to 365 days. Guardy Bot takes the role back when the time is up, even if Auto Roles is switched off in the meantime.
