01Buttons
Button menus with a clear answer
Labeled grey buttons under one message. Every press gets a private reply.
- Up to 25 buttons per menu, five rows of five, each with a label and an optional emoji.
- The reply names what changed: Added or Removed the role, or “Your roles are already up to date.”
- If Guardy cannot change a role, the member is told to ask an admin to check Guardy’s role permissions.

02Reactions

Members add a reaction to get a role, and remove it to give the role back.
- Up to 20 reactions per menu, each a different emoji, including your server’s own.
- Guardy adds the reactions for you when it publishes, so members only have to click.
- Reactions change roles quietly, with no reply. In a one-role menu, Guardy also clears the member’s old reaction.

03Draft and publish
Edit in a draft, publish when ready
Build the menu on the dashboard and see a live preview before it reaches Discord.
- Edits stay in a draft, so the live menu keeps working. The dashboard shows when your draft differs from what is live.
- Only safe roles can be picked: not @everyone, deleted roles or roles an integration manages. Guardy checks the role order again on every click.
- A role belongs to one menu, and not also to level rewards or auto roles. Deleting a menu stops it giving roles right away.

01Can a role menu use buttons or emoji reactions?
Yes. Each menu is either labeled buttons, up to 25, or emoji reactions, up to 20. Guardy does not offer dropdown menus for roles today.
02Can members choose one role or several?
Yes. A menu can let members hold several roles, keep one role by swapping out their other role from that menu, or grant a role they keep even if they click again or remove the reaction.
03Which Discord roles can members choose?
Any role except @everyone, deleted roles and roles managed by an integration, as long as it sits below Guardy’s own role. Guardy checks the role order again every time a member uses the menu. Each role can be in one menu, and not also a level reward or auto role.
04Do dashboard edits immediately change the live menu?
No. Edits stay in a draft until you publish them, so you can preview a change first.
05Is Reaction Roles free?
Yes. Every part of Reaction Roles works on Free, with no limit on menus from your plan. The only limits are Discord’s: 25 buttons or 20 reactions per menu. Premium adds your own colour on the menu message.
