Leveling model

Rules a member can understand.

Guardy stores XP as the durable source of truth and derives the familiar level from it. Configuration changes affect future awards; they do not silently rewrite earned history.

Message and voice XP

Eligible messages receive a random amount inside the server's configured range, subject to a per-member cooldown. Message text is not needed for Phase 1 leveling. Voice XP is awarded on configured ticks only while the member is eligible; bot-only or otherwise ineligible sessions do not accumulate an award.

The level curve

XP needed to advance from level L follows the MEE6-compatible formula:

5L² + 50L + 100

Cumulative XP through a level follows:

5L(2L² + 27L + 91) / 6

The implementation was parity-checked against 800 real MEE6 players, with zero XP or level differences.

Multipliers and no-XP zones

Server, channel, and role rules resolve before an award is written. Multipliers change the eligible award; exclusion rules suppress it. Free servers can configure 10 multipliers. During an import, Replace uses the source total for each named member; Merge maximum never lowers an existing Guardy total.

Role rewards

A stack ladder keeps every earned reward role. A highest-only ladder keeps the single highest role the member currently qualifies for. Guardy checks the bot's role hierarchy before changing roles and reports configuration it cannot manage instead of pretending the reward succeeded.

Rank cards and leaderboards

Rank-card background and color controls are free. The in-server leaderboard uses competition ranking for ties. A web leaderboard can be public, unlisted, or off; unlisted pages are marked not to be indexed, and a member opt-out displays “Anonymous” without changing the member's in-server rank.

Weekly and monthly windows

Window scores give communities a current-period view while all-time XP remains intact. A rollover changes the window, not the historical total, and delayed awards stay attached to the window in which they were earned.

Resets and data rights

Administrators can reset one member or the whole server through guarded workflows. Members can export or request deletion of covered records independently. Read the privacy policyfor the complete retention and planned-processing disclosure.
